Spiceball Leisure Centre Refurbishment

Essential Maintenance Work

From Monday 2nd June there will be essential maintenance works which are taking place on Spiceball Leisure Centre’s main pool and changing village for approximately 6 weeks. 

What are the proposed dates of refurbishment?

Monday 2nd June for 6 weeks. Please note that all dates and times are subject to change as the project develops. Please follow site updates on the website and social media platforms.

What will remain open?

You will still be able to enjoy the use of the gym, fitness classes, sports hall and squash courts.  

Do you have to pay for parking at Woodgreen Leisure Centre?

Parking is available and free of charge.  

Will Aqua Fit take place?

Yes, Aqua Fit will take place at Spiceball Leisure Centre at its usual times. Please note that changes will be limited and will be located by the Sports hall. 

Can I still use the car park?

Yes, the car park will be open as usual. 

Can I use other facilities?

Yes. During the closure period, you will be able to use Woodgreen Leisure Centre’s swimming pool for Lane Swimming and Public Swimming. All bookings will still be able to be made by the Leisure Centre App or website, the location will need to be changed to Woodgreen. 

What will happen to my weekly swimming lessons during this time? 

All customers on swimming lessons will be sent an email regarding their swimming lessons and where they will take place. All swimming lessons will remain at the same time. Please see the list below regarding where the swimming lessons will take place:

  • Adult and Baby/Toddler and Preschool lessons will be remaining at Spiceball 
  • Adult swimming lessons will remain at Spiceball 
  • Saturday Stages 1 -3 will remain at Spiceball 
  • Sunday Stages 1 - 3 will remain at Spiceball 
  • All Stages, Monday to Friday will move to Woodgreen Leisure Centre 

Changing for all swimming lessons remaining at Spiceball Leisure Centre will be limited, so please come swim-ready for your lessons. Changing rooms afterwards will be located in the sports hall corridor. 
 

Where is Woodgreen Leisure Centre?

Will I still be able to spectate for my child’s swimming lessons at Woodgreen Leisure Centre?

Yes! Spectating can be done from the poolside cafe seating area only. The ramp area to the pool entrance must be kept clear. Please be aware that all spectating is outside, so appropriate clothing will be required. 

Will I need to bring anything extra for my lessons at Woodgreen Leisure Centre? 

We recommend swimmers wear additional thermal protection such as a Sun Top/Rash Vest. We also advise swimmers to wear sun cream/lotion. Lessons will take place in all weather conditions, so warm clothing may be required for after changing. Changing rooms and showers are available as normal. 

Will my child still get free public swimming with their swimming lesson membership? 

Yes. During the closure period, public swimming will be able to be accessed at Woodgreen Leisure Centre, free of charge as part of their membership.
