Towcester Town Football Club

The History of Towcester Town Football ClubThe club was formed in 1988, when a group of parents set about providing football for the youth of Towcester. Following early training sessions for mainly boys of 12 years of age and under, word soon spread around the local schools and within weeks over 50 boys were attending the Saturday morning training sessions.

It was decided that the newly formed club would enter the Northampton & District Youth Alliance League at under 12 level, a committee was formed and the club entered its first season with a mixture of players ranging from 10 to 12 years of age who were eligible to play.

The first U12 team was managed by Phil Gibbins and assisted by Dave Norton. They were soon joined by Dave Linnell, John Taylor, Pater Atkinson and Jim Shaw, to lay the foundations of the first committee. Two members of the initial committee, Dave Norton and Dave Linnell were later to become Presidents of the club.

The first season was extremely frustrating in terms of results, but proved to be a very sound learning base for all. However the club was growing stronger in terms of more boys attending training sessions and for the following season it was decided to add an additional team to the league.

The club continued to grow and 1994 saw the introduction of our hugely successful tournament. The tournament has now grown into a popular event and a regular feature in the local calendar, with many teams playing on the recreation ground and Towcester Primary School over the first weekend of June.

Not only is the tournament a great success in terms of the quality of the football being played, but it is also plays a big part in our fund raising activities.2004 saw the introduction of girls football to TTFC and also saw the club being awarded the FA Charted Standard Award .

In 2009 we were successful in our application to become a Community Standard Club.Today the club is continuing to build on the hard work from its founders, with a strong committee and group of like-minded managers and coaches and to give our local children the opportunity to play football in a fun, structured organisation.

In 2014 the club fielded its first adult team for 30 years.Starting with our very popular Mini Kickers we now have teams, between U7s and Adults, now representing Towcester, the club are looking forward to its future growth and development.

World Jado Kuin Do

Jado Kuin Do is a modern day, practical art of self defence founded by Master Jake D. Ogden in 1998.

Jake trained for many years in traditional kung fu (Lee Chuan Fa, Wing Chun) and Judo. Later, in a quest for further knowledge fuelled by his interest in martial arts he studied Kickboxing, Thai Boxing, Karate and Taekwondo attained Black Belt Dan/Degree grades in all of them.

He has also studied Wing Chun and attained Black Sash. The main focus behind the formation of Jado Kuin Do was to bring together the combative skills that Jake had learnt that could be readily adapted to the modern age.

Jake has kept the traditional values of his earlier arts, but through well researched scientific concepts and over 30 years of continuous study and experience, Jake was able to form the respectable art of Jado Kuin Do.
